HEALTH, SAFETY AND NUTRITION

Head Start and Ohio Department of Job and Family Services Day Care Licensing require that all children have a yearly medical exam.

When a child enters the program, families have thirty days to submit a completely up-to-date medical exam. A dental exam must also be completed and submitted within forty-five days after entering the Head Start program.

Head Start follows the guidelines of the Child and Adult Care Food Program for preschool programs serving children ages three to five years.

Children receive snacks and lunch daily, with milk served during meals.

Juice is not served with meals at Head Start because of concerns regarding sugar content and tooth decay.

Please inform Head Start of any food allergies your child may have so that proper meal modifications can be made.
